GolFit: When Golf Meets Fitness

Here at Alpin Luxe, we’re thrilled to have the expertise of Nicole Cavarra, LPGA Certified Golf Instructor.  Among her long list of credentials is the founding of GolFit–a unique wellness concept that combines the principles of Golf and Fitness.  She specializes in bringing together the mental and physical aspects of movement to create a healthy and balanced life.

We invited her to tell you a little bit more about the golf/fitness connection, and why it even matters to you!

Building a Strong Foundation

Golf is both an athletic and a mindful game, and so is the golf swing. The mechanics of the swing require the same simple motions and sequence of events you’ve learned to perform all your life. Basic foundational movements such as the motions involved in throwing a ball, swinging a baseball or softball bat, executing a forehand in tennis, gymnastics, swimming, doing yardwork or housework and even lifting your children off the ground.

When your body moves correctly in your swing, it makes it easier and more consistent for you to create proper swing mechanics such as club path, plane, face angle and angle of attack.  You will also generate more power and distance because you are moving more efficiently and creating more leverage and force.

But Technique is just the beginning.

It's a Mental Game
