Sam Varner

Health and Fitness Coach

North Carolina native, Sam Varner, is currently the Wellness Administrator for Randolph County Government where he oversees the health and wellness program for nearly 900 Randolph County Government employees, but this alone doesn’t tell the story. Affectionately known as “Coach V,” Sam has transformed the health and wellness of nearly every Randolph County Government employee over the past decade and they are now the 18th healthiest county government in America – in a state that ranks 37th in overall health. Remarkable achievement!

Previously, Coach V was Director of Wellness at The Cliffs Communities of the Carolinas, and former Director of Fitness for Pebble Beach in CA. Sam was also the Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Clemson Football Team who were 1981 National Champions and 1982 Orange Bowl winners. Sam was also the Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Utah, 1982 -1990 and has trained 7 Olympic Medalists through 3 Olympic Winter Games – not to mention celebrity clients like Faye Dunaway and Ed Ames.

Coach V was a guest of President George Bush at the White House for the 2005 National Day of Prayer and is a Board-certified Health & Wellness Coach, who has authored 4 books and numerous health and wellness articles, including is soon-to-be-released book, Slimmer Younger Stronger II. Alpin Luxe is ecstatic about having Sam onboard with his wisdom and expertise when it comes to health, wellness and fitness.
