Martin Wilson

Ski Coach

A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Martin began his lifetime love affair with skiing as a young boy at Loch Lomond ski area. During his junior ski racing career, Martin became a Junior Canadian Champion, competed on both the Nor-Am and Europa Cup circuits. As often the case in ski racing, a series of injuries cut Martin’s competitive career short. However, becoming a student of the game enabled Martin to transition into a successful coaching career. From that moment, Martin further dedicated his life to the sport by learning and sharing his experiences as an elite level athlete to the next generation. As a fully certified coach and instructor in multiple countries, Martin has held prestigious coaching and instructor positions in both Canada and the USA at institutions such as the National Ski Academy in Ontario, Killington Mountain School in Vermont, and Bowdoin College in Maine and is widely considered one of the top ski coaches in the world.

Always focused on the “pursuit of better” and giving back to the sport of skiing, Martin started The Next Turn Podcast in January, 2021. The only podcast of its kind in the snow sports world, The Next Turn Podcast examines skiing, ski racing, and sport.
