Lukas comes from a family of passionate skiers with mom, Andrea, competing on the Alpine Ski World Cup circuit and dad, Tony, the Director of Skiing at Boyne Mountain Resorts. He learned to ski at age 2 and started ski racing a few years later – falling in love with carving turns and competing on the Austrian junior ski racing circuit. At age 14, Lukas was talented enough to be selected into one of Austria’s leading Ski Academies – graduating with honors in 2016. Lukas competed at the international level with the Austrian National Team and has trained all over the world. He retired in 2017 to pursue studies at the University of Innsbruck and secure his Austrian ski coach and instructor certifications. Last winter season, Lukas took a semester off to be a coach and ski technician for one of his best friends on the Alpine Ski World Cup. He also finished his Austrian Level 3 Ski Instructors certification – which includes the Mountain Guide Certification and Austrian Ski Coaches Certification. In addition to skiing, Lukas loves mountain biking, surfing and climbing.
